Biografie
Prof. dr. Lonneke van de Poll-Franse is Group Leader of the Division of Psychosocial Research and Epidemiology and Survivorship Theme Leader at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. In addition, she is a Senior Researcher at the Netherlands Comprehensive Cancer Organisation (IKNL).
She is trained as an epidemiologist. After completing her PhD, she worked as a research fellow at the Department of Preventive Medicine, University of Tennessee, Memphis (USA), the Sticht Center on Aging at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina (USA), and the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, Los Angeles (USA).
She currently leads a research group at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and IKNL consisting of 11 PhD candidates, 5 postdoctoral researchers, and 5 research assistants. The group focuses on the physical and psychosocial consequences of cancer and cancer survivorship.
Lonneke has published more than 275 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has an H-index of 60 (Google Scholar). In addition, she has secured more than €11 million in research funding as principal or co-applicant.
In 2009, she received a personal research grant from the Dutch Cancer Society to establish her own research line
